As part of our follow-up to the progress the Daughters of Zion SBA CNPP grantee is making within Memphis, Shelby County, and beyond- we are highlighting the weekly Entrepreneur of the Week Award. LD Thompson Sr was chosen as entrepreneur of the week, and when asked why, Dr. Gerald Kiner, Ph.D. declared, “ Another one of my hero’s. LD Thompson Sr is an amazing business man with over 32 years of experience in Corporate America. He often boasts on me but if I could become half the leader he is, I would consider myself a success. LD Thompson Sr sees nothing as impossible. He is truly a divinely, inspired man. I am in awe of how he soaks everything in instantly and never stops learning. His wisdom, enthusiasm, and fire is contagious. He is extremely worthy and deserving to be recognized as our 40th entrepreneur of the week.”

Q: Please state your name, the name of your company,  and the nature of your business?

A: My name is LD Thompson Sr. I am the proud owner of Trinity Services Corp. We assist and help low and moderate income people to gain economic and financial success. We also are home improvement contractors- residential and commercial.

Q: How did you come up with that name?

A: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost that’s the Trinity.

Q: What made you want to start your business?

A: The Lord showed me some things in the community where there weren’t solutions and the people didn’t have anything to turn to and I went to work and now we are 7 years strong.

Q: What makes you stand out from the competition?

A: I would say quality work at a fair honest price.

Q: How did you find out about Daughters of Zion SBA CNPP

A: Min Stephanie Willims saw me at the library on Raines and Millbranch and started talking to me- it was Divine Intervention from God. She said my pastor is helping a lot of people and I said, I need to talk to him. “She said “ we meet every Saturday.” That was nearly a year ago.  I’ve been there ever since.

Q: What would you say to other business owners about why they should become a part of the Daughters of Zion SBA Community Navigator Pilot Program?

A: Such a simple question with such a simple answer. Daughters of Zion offers business owners access that will give them more than what they already have and a family of people that care about them that they can grow with and be successful with.

Dr. Kiner and his staff are dynamic in the area of instruction and teaching. Dr. Kiner’s team works together in concert- no conflict. I’m inspired by that and I incorporate that with my team.

Q: In closing, what’s something vital you want all the potential clients out there to know about you?

A: That the years of experience I’ve gained about business has helped me to understand it’s not how much I know, it’s how much I can give back so the next generation can have a chance.
