As part of our follow-up to the progress the Daughters of Zion SBA CNPP grantee is making within Memphis, Shelby County, and beyond- we are highlighting the weekly Entrepreneur of the Week Award. Kim Byrd was chosen as entrepreneur of the week, and when asked why, Dr. Gerald Kiner, Ph.D. declared, “Venita is a breath of fresh air in what can sometimes feel like a monotonous world. As someone who tends to be a workaholic, Venita has shown me, and everyone else, that life is so much more than just work. She brings an undeniable zest and excitement to everything she does, especially when it comes to travel. Venita’s dynamic ideas on where to go, when to go, how to go, and why to go have truly transformed lives, including my own. Thanks to Venita, my life has become livelier and more vibrant, and I am confident that she can do the same for you. So, if you’re ready to infuse your life with adventure and exploration, I highly recommend taking a journey with Venita.
It’s been said that the number 60 symbolizes harmony, guidance along different paths, and spiritual journeys. Ms. Mullins travel agency is just that, an extraordinary guide along the path to ensure our spirits are prepared for the travel adventure so it’s long overdue and with great pleasure that I announce Venita Mullins as our 60th Entrepreneur of the Week.

Today, we shine the spotlight on Venita Mullins, founder and owner of Ms.V’s Grand Travel, who is redefining travel arrangement services. With her keen eye for detail and passion for exploring the globe, Venita takes the concept of travel planning to new heights.
When asked about the inspiration behind the name of her company, Ms.V’s Grand Travel, Venita reveals, “I couldn’t come up with a name, so I was talking to my daughters and we came up with Ms.V’s Grand Travel. It sounded fitting, grand, and encompassed the essence of the experiences I wanted to create for my clients.”
Venturing into the world of entrepreneurship was a natural progression for Venita. “I started off booking trips for my family and friends because we take a lot of trips. One day, my friends suggested that I look into being a travel agent since I was already doing it. I thought, why not turn my passion into a business?” she exclaims.
Ms.V’s Grand Travel stands out among competitors due to Venita’s exceptional personality and dedication to going the extra mile. “My personality is what makes me stand out. I genuinely care about my clients and their travel experiences. Whether someone decides to use my services or not, I’m always willing to help and provide guidance. Being understanding and compassionate is crucial in this industry,” Venita explains.
Her discovery of the Daughters of Zion Small Business Administration Community Navigator Pilot Program adds another chapter to her entrepreneurial journey. “I heard about the Daughters of Zion SBA CNPP through a radio announcement on 95.7. The program provides valuable information for both existing and aspiring business owners. I would highly recommend it,” she enthusiastically shares.
Witnessing the growth of her business, Venita acknowledges the power of word-of-mouth marketing. “I do a lot of group bookings, and the positive testimonials and recommendations from satisfied clients have really elevated my business. It has put me on the map and helped me build trusting relationships with my clients,as I simply treat people the way I want to be treated, ” she confides.
Beyond her successful business, Venita reveals some intriguing facts about herself. “My favorite food would be salmon. I can eat it all day,” she admits. “I like to have fun and enjoy spending time with my family, although I may appear quiet at first. Also, I can’t go without God and my family,” she shares warmly. And when it comes to furry friends, Venita chuckles, “The last dog I named was Coco.”
