Shelby County judge files order of protection against brother after alleged threats
By
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A Shelby County judge has filed an order of protection against her brother, a former judge.
The order was filed earlier this month by Criminal Court Judge Paula Skahan against her brother, former Judge Gerald Skahan.
In the order, Paula claims her brother has been sending threatening text messages to her and their other siblings, saying things like, “She will be lucky if I don’t kill her before I go.”
Judge Skahan also says in the order that she believes her brother is lashing out because he blames her for losing his election last year.
The order requests he has no contact with her and no access to firearms.
A hearing on the matter is set for February 1.
Gerald declined to comment Friday night.
