MSCS announces onboarding process for next superintendent

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) Board announced the transition process for the next superintendent.
According to officials, there has been a timeline developed for the process.
The eight-week period aligns with timelines for the transitions of previous District superintendents:
Officials said that the Budget planning is underway.
The Tennessee State Legislature is in session and will allow Dr. Feagins an opportunity to build relationships in Nashville with one of our major funders.
MSCS will have a short-term per diem agreement with Dr. Feagins beginning Friday, March 1, followed by a plan to ask the board to vote on her permanent contract at the next board meeting.
If approved, effective Monday, April 1, 2024, Dr. Feagins will officially become the superintendent of the District.
