Former Hardy, AR police chief convicted of sexual assault

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A former Hardy, Arkansas police chief was convicted of assault and furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to the Arkansas State Police.
On Friday, Scott Rose, 48, was found guilty of Second-Degree Sexual Assault and Knowingly Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
For the Second-Degree Assault conviction, Rose was ordered to pay a $15,000 fine, ASP said.
He was sentenced to one year in the county jail for furnishing alcohol to a minor and ordered to also pay a $2,500 fine, troopers said.
In March 2025, a multi-agency investigation was conducted after the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) requested assistance concerning allegations of child sexual abuse involving Rose.
Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Special Agents worked with investigators from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI.
Rose was taken into custody on June 2, 2025, ASP said. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
