Millington man wanted for 2022 murder of 15-year-old girl captured in Slovenia

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — The man accused of murdering Haley Reedy, the 15-year-old who was shot and killed four years ago in Millington, has been found in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Seth Walls, 23, was wanted on charges of second-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, according to U.S. Marshals.

Reedy was 15 when she was shot and killed September 11, 2022, at a residence in the 5000 block of Clear Creek Drive in Millington.

The case was adopted and upgraded for a fugitive investigation by the U.S. Marshals Two River Violent Fugitive Task Force in Memphis on Sept. 25, 2023. Walls eventually fled out of state and out of the country. According to U.S. Marshals, Interpol was brought into the investigation to ensure police agencies around the globe were hunting for Walls.

Walls was arrested on Sept. 12, 2026, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Investigators say Walls was using an assumed name when he was arrested. His identity was confirmed through fingerprints provided by Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization.

He remains in custody in Slovenia while the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office and Shelby County Sheriff’s Office coordinate his extradition back to the United States.

“This fugitive investigation spanned three years and overseas to Europe, but the U.S. Marshals Service never stopped hunting Seth Walls,” said Tyreece Miller, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee. “We are glad to utilize the skills of our Investigators and coordinate with local, federal, and international law enforcement partners to hold him accountable to the justice system and the victim’s family.”

The Gulf Shores Alabama Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, Millington Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation.

Police reported that Walls, Reedy and another person were at the suspect’s home at the time of the murder. Walls and the other party remained present while officers processed the scene, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit states that Walls and the other witness gave conflicting stories.

Walls told officers he left the room where the victim and the other party remained, and he heard a gunshot shortly after. The other person claimed she was sitting on the couch with the victim, and she then heard a gunshot before the victim fell into her lap.

Investigators said they determined Walls as the suspect in the murder based on where he said he was sitting in his statement. The affidavit said investigators believed he was the one who had access to and possession of the gun.

ABC24 interviewed the victim’s mother, Brandee Reedy about a year ago, while Walls was still a fugitive. She described what she knew about her daughter’s final moments.

“She was with her friend at this person’s house and he shot her. For what reason we don’t know, but he point blank shot her in the side of her head,” Reedy said.

According to authorities, Millington police investigated the shooting, and an arrest warrant was issued for Walls through Shelby County Criminal Court.

Reedy previously told ABC24 that Walls was initially charged with reckless homicide and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and was released on a $10,000 bond.

“They charged him with reckless homicide and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. They gave him a $10,000 bond,” she said.

Reedy said Walls later stopped appearing in court.

“He bonded out and then Shelby County took it over. They upped his charges. He showed up for one court date and obviously he’s not showed up for any other court dates,” she said.

The case was eventually elevated to second-degree murder and became a fugitive investigation.
