Memphis Safe Task Force reaches 386 arrests in second week of operation

The task force has completed 65 total arrests since the last update from the U.S. Department of Justice.

 

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Safe Task Force has recorded 386 arrests since the operation launched, according to an update from the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

Beginning on Sept. 29, Attorney General Pam Bondi said arrests made by the force have included gang members, illegal immigrants, and violent criminals, including rape and murder suspects.

In total, 65 individuals have been arrested since the DOJ’s last update, which was from the day prior.

DOJ officials broke down the total number of charges recorded as of Tuesday, which can be seen below:

  • Warrant pickups – 125
  • Administrative – 94
  • Firearms – 50
  • Narcotics – 30
  • Homicide – 2
  • Probation/Parole – 2
  • Sex Offenses – 20

There were also 52 unexplained “other” charges, and 28 “known gang members” were reportedly identified in the operation as of Tuesday morning.
