Governor’s office launches online resource for those in need during SNAP freeze
By
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced the launch of FeedTN.org on Thursday, a resource to help Tennesseans navigate food resources available to them while SNAP benefits are placed on hold.
The governor says more than 690,000 Tennesseans are facing food insecurity on November 1 when SNAP benefits stop due to the government shutdown.
The resource helps residents find food banks close to them, or for those who are able to give back to donate their food, money or time to help the food banks facing a greater need.
The governor’s office has also partnered with over 300 non-profit and faith leaders to assist their communities in all 95 counties.
