Lines build up as people rush to get their REAL ID

BARTLETT, Tenn. (WMC) – The deadline to get a REAL ID is approaching fast, and in Memphis the lines each day get longer at Driver Service Centers.
People must have a REAL ID or other TSA approved form of identification to board a plane by May 7th.
The Center in Bartlett had people waiting for hours, Rodney Perry was one man who tried his luck today, he talked about what it looked like inside.
“There were no seats available and then you had a packed lobby, and then you have a line almost down the street,” Perry said.
Perry was one of the few who was able to get in and out and he had a piece of advice for people who are cutting is close to the deadline.
“It is going to get worse because a lot of people are going to wait to the last minute, but you have to get the e-ticket and save you some time,” Perry said.
The e-ticket allows you to virtually place yourself in line before arriving at a Tennessee Driver Services Center.
