MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Memphis Zoo has welcomed a new baby into their home.
Raptor, a baby Francois langur, was born on April 23 to mother Jean Gray.
The babies are born with bright orange hair that eventually turns black.
The name Raptor is a nod to Memphis Zoo’s Dino Park.
Francois langurs are native to the forests of southern China and northern Vietnam. The animals face significant threats from habitat loss and hunting which have launched conservation efforts to protect the species.
