SCSO to host active shooter training for church leaders

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. – An active shooter training for church pastors and security team leaders will take place today.
Hosted by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the “Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events” is between 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the agency’s Training Academy.
The address is 993 Dovecrest Road.
The SCSO is hosting the event in partnership with the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security and its goal is to provide “strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.”
