MEMPHIS, Tenn. — University of Memphis international students who had their SEVIS records terminated have now had them reinstated, according to the University.
“All terminated SEVIS records for University of Memphis students have been returned to active,” the University said in a statement to WREG.
This comes after at least five international students had their SEVIS records terminated earlier this month, which was a move affecting their immigration status.
More than 1,300 international students and recent graduates have had their legal status challenged by the State Department, including several others in Tennessee, according to a report Wednesday from Inside Higher Ed.
