Stepdad bursts into tears as stepdaughter graduates using his last name as a surprise

A stepdad had no clue what was about to happen at his stepdaughter’s high school graduation.

In Granbury, Texas, Kelly Leal filmed her husband as her daughter was about to walk across the stage to receive her diploma.

Ahead of the ceremony, his stepdaughter had asked the school to switch her last name to her stepfather’s. And the surprise could not have worked better, as, when he heard his surname announced, her stunned stepdad collapsed into tears of joy.

According to Kelly, he has acted as a father and raised her daughter as his own, and this was a token of their appreciation for the man who stepped up.
