
Trial date set for Shelby Co. Commissioner Edmund Ford Jr. on bribery, tax charges

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Shelby County Commissioner Edmund Ford Jr. appeared in court Monday, where a trial date was set in his federal case.
He’s facing bribery and attempted tax evasion charges.
Ford is accused of depositing more than $250,000 into an account for his computer business from three different nonprofits.
These nonprofits received grant funds from the Shelby County Commission and the Memphis City Council through resolutions Ford either sponsored or voted on.
His trial date is set for Jan. 20, 2026.
