
Two men killed in Soulsville shooting; one person detained

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two men are dead after an argument led to a shooting in Soulsville on Sunday evening.
At 4:13 p.m., officers responded to a shooting inside Memphis Rox, a rock-climbing nonprofit.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene, and another victim was taken to the hospital, where they later died from their injuries.
One person has been detained at this time.
Memphis Rox released a statement on the shooting late Sunday night, confirming that “one of our most beloved Memphis Rox team members” had been killed. The nonprofit stated that it will be closed on Monday to “process our grief.”

Investigators tell WREG the shots were fired between a man and a male employee inside the building. Memphis Police say the victims argued before the shooting happened.
According to police, preliminary information suggests that the people involved knew each other.
As the investigation into the deadly double shooting continues, investigators have a message for the Memphis community.
“It was two individuals, shots were fired,” Lieutenant Marcus Frierson said. “This is isolated.”
