MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Shelby County Sheriff’s Office drug trafficking investigation has led to 16 indictments and arrests, the SCSO announced Monday.
‘Operation Ending Insight’ began in February 2023 and went through October 2024, originally targeting Insight nightclub in the 200 block of E. McLemore Ave. Through the investigation, the SCSO said they learned the organization spread throughout the county.
Investigators executed 11 search warrants on homes and storage units related to the operation. The SCSO said detectives seized about $110,000, large amounts of marijuana and fentanyl, 17 vehicles, seven firearms, and discovered 24 kilos of cocaine in total. They said while the value of the “narcotics on hand” was about $20,000, the disruption to the trafficking operation would equal about $550,000-600,000.
The SCSO said four of the 16 indicted were convicted felons, and most of the suspects remain in custody at the Shelby County Jail.
“These arrests demonstrate the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to holding individuals accountable for participating in illicit activities that endanger our community,” said Sheriff Floyd Bonner in a statement.
