3 men with assault rifles rob armored truck while employee works on ATM, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Three heavily armed men robbed an armored truck while an employee was servicing an ATM in Whitehaven, Memphis Police (MPD) said Sunday.
Around 8:20 Friday morning, MPD said, officers were sent to 140 Mitchell Road outside the First Horizon Bank for a robbery call. Once there, police said, officers were told that three men in a white Nissan Altima and armed with assault rifles robbed an armored truck while the employee was working on an ATM outside the bank.
MPD said the three men took large amounts of cash before driving off.
The Nissan Altima was found shortly after the robbery, police said.
