
First Week Success: Daughters of Zion’s William & Johnson Career College Kicks Off First Week of CNA Class with Enthusiasm and Promise for Westwood Resident Jaytese Westmoreland

Memphis, TN** – The Tennessee Department of Human Services grantee, Daughters of Zion’s William & Johnson Career College, opened its doors to the first week of class of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) students this past week, and the atmosphere was charged with excitement and ambition.
Among the eager new students is Jaytese Westmoreland. The Westwood resident, shared her reflections on this landmark moment.
“Probably the togetherness of learning everything, the questions being answered, different methods, the way we go about the book and the workbook all in one,” Jaytese said, highlighting the collaborative and comprehensive nature of the program.
Throughout their first week, students delved into essential skills and knowledge areas critical for their future roles in healthcare. “Vital signs, range of motion, hand washing, laws and ethics,” Jaytese listed, showcasing Daughters of Zion’s William & Johnson Career College robust curriculum designed to equip students with a strong foundation in patient care.
Looking ahead, Jaytese is already considering her future paths in the nursing field. “I was really wanting to do the class to go on to being an RN, but I think I might do travel CNA for a while see how that works out,” she explained, embodying the spirit of exploration and dedication that the program aims to foster.
