Former Patriots running back Stevan Ridley shares video of race that left Kevin Hart in wheelchair

LOS ANGELES, California — Former New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley shared video on Friday of himself and Kevin Hart competing in a 40-yard dash that resulted in the comedian suffering multiple muscle tears.

In an Instagram post, a trio of videos showed the foot race in the middle of a street with a caption that simply said, “Gotcha?? Got whooo?!”

Ridley, a Super Bowl XLIX champion, easily won the race against Hart, who is seen in the video coming up limp near the end of the dash.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Hart announced that he tore his lower abdomen and both hip abductors in the race.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the age 40 is real. All my men and women out there who are 40 years old and above, respect that age. It’s not a game,” Hart said. “I don’t want you to be alarmed, but I’m in a wheelchair.”

Hart explained that he and Ridley had been arguing about who was faster, but the ensuing race didn’t go as planned.

“I can’t walk…This is 44,” Hart said. “What are we competing for at this age? What am I doing? Why did I even race? stupidest s*** ever. Now I can’t walk.”

Ridley, now 34, was drafted by the Patriots out of Lousiana State University in 2011. He spent four seasons in Foxboro, tallying nearly 3,000 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Ridley went on to play parts of four more seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, and New York Jets after leaving New England.
