Former Tiger D.J. Jeffries has been added to Grizzlies Summer League roster

D.J. Jeffries will get to play for his hometown team, the Memphis Grizzlies at the NBA Summer League.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — D.J. Jeffries is ready to rep a team from the 901 again. The former Memphis Tiger will play for the Memphis Grizzlies at the NBA Summer League.

Jeffries agent made the announcement on social media late Sunday afternoon.

Jeffries went to Olive Branch high school where he was a 5-star recruit and ranked 19th in the nation.

He started his collegiate career at Memphis. In two seasons with the Tigers Jeffries averaged 10.3 points and 4.8 rebounds.

Jeffries then transferred to Mississippi State where he played three seasons and averaged 8 points and 5.4 rebounds.

The Memphis Grizzlies have not released their Summer League roster yet but expect their recent draft picks Jaylen Wells and Cam Spencer to be there. They also expect Zach Edey, who, on Sunday, opted out of playing for Team Canada at the Olympics.

The games are set to begin on Monday, July 8 in Salt Lake City.
