Law enforcement ‘will not tolerate’ uptick in crime

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Federal law enforcement will be providing more federal prosecution for convicted felons charged with a gun crime in Memphis.
As of this month, the Memphis Crime Analytics dashboard says crime has surpassed 2020 and 2021 levels.
Today, organizations at every level reinforced their dedication to working together and stopping crime in Shelby County.
Shelby County Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner says they desire to get criminals off the streets.
“But we also desire for those of you who are contemplating on the next crime to make a wise choice. There are a number of nonprofit organizations surrounding our city and our county who are waiting and willing to help you turn away from a life of crime.”
