Marc Gasol’s jersey retirement ceremony, lineup of events

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies will be celebrating the legend, Marc Gasol’s jersey retirement with an exciting lineup of events commemorating his career.
The celebration will take place during the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Philadelphia 76ers game Saturday, April 6.
The first 5,000 fans will receive a Commemorative Vinyl Record honoring Gasol.
The Grizzlies have a full list of events planned for the public to enjoy.
The celebration of events tip-off with Marc Gasol’s documentary titled, “Marc Gasol: Memphis Made” which spotlights the star’s journey in Memphis and some of his career highlights.
The documentary’s premiere will be shown Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m. The film will be shown exclusively, to an invite-only list of a limited number of MVP season ticket members, before the official public release.
For fans wanting to experience a behind-the-scenes look at the film they can watch immediately after on the Grind City Media YouTube Channel and GrindCityMedia.com.
A roundtable discussion led by Jessica Benson from Grind City Media with other speakers such as Chris Vernon from Grind City Media, Michael Blevins, the film’s director, and Chris Herrington from the Daily Memphian.
The day of the ceremony, celebrations start early with a pregame party on the Big River Steel Plaza starting at 5 p.m.
Live performances from Corey Lou & Da Village, games, and more.
In-game performances will include a variety of Memphis singers, musicians, artist, video tributes honoring Gasol.
Special guests including Pau Gasol, Zach Randolph, Tony Allen, will be in attendance at the ceremony.
Fans will be able to purchase special edition Gasol and “Core 4” tees and jerseys available in the Grizzlies Den at FedExForum starting April 5.
