Millions restored for Elvis Presley Blvd. project, city says

By:

MEMPHIS, Tenn — The city of Memphis announced Thursday that funding has been reinstated for the long-awaited Elvis Presley Boulevard Road Improvement Project.

The WREG Investigators were the first to report the project had lost federal funding. In our most recent investigation, we learned state lawmakers were working with TDOT and city leaders to get the money back.

According to the City of Memphis in collaboration with Metropolitan Planning Organization, they have announced the reinstatement of full funding of $8,980,000 for streetscape improvements along the middle segment of Elvis Presley Boulevard.

“The Tennessee Department of Transportation has confirmed the obligation of this funding, which will facilitate critical infrastructure improvements along Elvis Presley Blvd, from South of Winchester Road to Craft Road,” said the City of Memphis. “This work will continue the progress that has previously been completed on the northern portion of Elvis Presley Blvd.”

The City of Memphis says that the reinstatement funding marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance and improve road conditions. They say they are dedicated to ensuring the successful implementation of the project.
