Near record warmth before Halloween rain arrives

 Cory Smith

Showers and a few thunderstorms are possible throughout the day on Thursday, which could impact Halloween plans.

What you need to know

  • Near-Record warmth through Wednesday
  • Storms could be possible on Halloween
  • Cooler later in the week

After tying the temperature record we will be making a run at the middle 80s once again on Tuesday. Highs will range from 82 to 85 depending on where you are at in the Mid-South. We stay very warm through Wednesday.

Another cold front will approach Wednesday night, bringing us a good chance of rain and even a few rumbles of thunder through the day Thursday. Models seem to be pushing this line through later afternoon but we will have a better idea on this in the coming days.

This could impact Halloween evening plans if we are seeing things line up during this period. We could see some showers linger over night but most of the rain will be done by Friday morning, but a shower or two is possible on Friday with highs in the 70s. Next Saturday will be mostly dry with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the middle 70s.
