MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A second teen has been charged after a seven-year-old was held at gunpoint for $10 near a park in South Memphis, according to Memphis Police.
Police say a 16-year-old boy was arrested Friday and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Dangerous Felony.
A 14-year-old boy was also charged with robbery for the same incident, according to police.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Vaal Avenue near Castex Street by the victim’s mother just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.
According to police, Kamari Hardin was walking from Riverview Community Park on Kansas Street with his friends when he was attacked.

The victim said that the suspect, whom he did not know, put him on the ground and pointed a black handgun at him, went into his right pocket, took his two $5 bills, and then ran into an open field.
According to a police report, Hardin and one of his friends were robbed. Kamari and his mother told WREG that a total of three boys were robbed by two teens, who they recognized from the neighborhood.
“I heard one say don’t do it because he’ll get his mama. He still did it,” said Kamari. “He pat them down first when he stole their money. He pinned me down. He put his knee on my legs, so I won’t move. He put the gun on my leg, and I was holding my pocket because I was trying to protect myself, when he pulled my hand off my pocket. He got into my pocket, and he stole my money.”

“He doesn’t even want to leave the porch. He’s scared to walk around the neighborhood because he doesn’t know if it’s going to happen to him again,” his mother said.
Kamari said that the teenager who robbed him tripped him, causing him to fall to the ground before searching through his pockets.
Some also questioned why the children were out after dark, but Kamari’s mom said the community center was around the corner from her home.
