Bartlett PD officer accused of sexual battery, placed on administrative leave

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Bartlett Police say an officer has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested for sexual battery.

Bartlett Police say the department was notified about an alleged incident involving sexual battery on Sunday. Bartlett PD says the officer was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Bartlett Police have not released the officer’s name at this time. Police say the officer will be on administrative leave for an “indefinite period” pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

“The Bartlett Police Department holds its officers to the highest professionalism, integrity, and accountability standards,” Bartlett Police said in a statement. “The community’s trust is paramount, and we will take swift action to ensure that those who serve and protect the law are held to the same standards as the public they serve.”
