MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Start planning now, Mid-South drivers.
Drivers traveling between Memphis and Arkansas will need to pack some patience and plan for an alternate route starting Sunday, March 10.
The I-55 Bridge will be closed for two weeks, starting at 8 p.m. that Sunday, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
The main detour for drivers looking to cross the Mississippi River will be the I-40 Bridge.
The planned closure is one of several TDOT has enforced to complete repairs on the I-55 Bridge.
In several weekend closures of the I-55 Bridge, TDOT has reopened the bridge ahead of schedule, though there’s no indication if that will be the case for this two-week closure.
