Rapper and singer Rod Wave has called off his entire “Last Lap Tour” after canceling his Tuesday night show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, calling off the concert hours before doors were set to open.
The 26-year-old “25” and “Street Runner” singer took to social media on Thursday to explain the cancellation, citing production issues as the main reason for a series of cancellations and postponements that ran throughout the tour’s duration.
Rod Wave embarked on his “Last Lap Tour” with special guests Moneybagg Yo, Toosii, Lil Poppa and Dess Dior last October.
His canceled Jan. 28 Nashville show follows a postponement of the tour’s originally announced Nashville show, which was slated for Dec. 9.
Why did Rod Wave cancel his ‘Last Lap Tour’?
“Ok. So bout the tour,” Rod Wave said on his Instagram story on Wednesday.
“Yall no it was f****d up from the beginning because of production! They had to cancel and reschedule and it just wasn’t makin any sense. The second leg had the same problem. I never missed a show for nothing personally ever in life.”
In a following story post, Rod Wave posted a picture of pain medication in bags labeled by the date.
“My foot and ankle injury been killin’ me whole tour but this is what I had to do to continue,” he said in the caption. “I been mentally twacked out so pls excuse me.”
Rod Wave explained in a little more detail in some following posts. He said he spent over $13 million for the tour’s production, but said it wasn’t “built right.” He doesn’t want his fans to get a “half done show,” he said. He’ll be back, he said, next time with a better show.
“I’m sorry yall !!!” he wrote. “Yall known this s**t always been professional ran right. Maybe I jumped out there tooo fast Ima b back wit dis s**t together.”
Will fans get refunds for Rod Wave’s canceled ‘Last Lap Tour’?
Fans can expect full refunds from Ticketmaster.
“Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,” it says on Ticketmaster.
“You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.”
