The 3 respiratory illnesses that are going around Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis doctors say ER visits are on the rise. So what’s going around?
Dr. Chinelo Animalu, an infectious diseases specialist with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, says there are three viruses they worry about.
- COVID
- flu and
- RSV
Dr. Animalu says those respiratory illnesses are rampant across Memphis..
We also asked about norovirus, a GI virus, and whether it is making its way around Memphis.
“It’s something to keep our eyes on,” Animalu said. “For instance, a family member have norovirus and have touched some surfaces or somebody else touches that you can easily get that. So it’s something that we can pass around.”
Dr. Animalu says hand washing, masks and vitamins are all tried and true ways to stay healthy.
