Easter weekend wraps up with warm temps, sunshine before storms move in next week
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Expect a warm and windy Sunday night as a warm front lifts, bringing gusts near 30 mph ahead of a cold front Monday into Tuesday with a threat for strong to severe weather.
Mid-South could see scattered showers in the afternoon Monday, followed by some isolated storms overnight but most of the stronger storms likely won’t happen until after midnight, closer to 2 a.m. as they enter into northeast Arkansas.
Another round will pick up and this time has a chance to impact the metro area, between 8-10 a.m.
However, the greatest impact will likely be felt in north Mississippi into the lunch hour and early afternoon as a cluster of storms forms into a line of storms.
These will all have the possibility of producing damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes are low but can’t be ruled out. The later down the list that storm is, the greater the risk, so northern Mississippi is the greatest area of concern.
After the storms past, a few showers may persist into Wednesday with breezy conditions, now on the cooler side of the front dropping temperatures for a few days but sunshine will help.
